Position Description
Applications are invited for the position of Faculty Lecturer to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the B.Eng. Bioresource Engineering major, as well as the B.Sc. Agricultural and Environmental Sciences major. This is a full-time, non-tenure track, teaching position. Target subjects consist of both mathematics and computer science courses such as: Computing for Engineers (BREE 252), Statistical Methods (AEMA 310), Bioinformatics for Genomics (BINF 511), and Geomatics (BREE 214). In addition, the incumbent will design new courses on introduction to computing (e.g., Python and other open-source tools) and data analytical tools (e.g., R studio, data visualization, artificial intelligence, etc.). It is also expected that the successful candidate will help maintain databases, containing data from diverse sources of our livestock and crop production farms and conduct a series of non-credit workshops for undergraduate and graduate students engaged in data-rich research.
The incumbent is expected to have expertise in computer programming, mathematics and interest/experience in agricultural and/or environmental sciences, accomplished through a PhD with complementary pre-doctoral degrees. Eligibility for P.Eng. registration in Canada is an asset as well as the ability to interact in French.
The position is available starting August 1, 2023. Review of applications will begin on June 1, 2023.
