don petkauIt’s my pleasure to introduce you to Don Petkau. He has stepped forward to serve as our Society Manager of the Society and Secretary-Treasurer of our Foundation.

Don is a licensed professional engineer in Manitoba, and a graduate of the Agricultural Engineering program at the University of Manitoba.  He subsequently completed his MBA and PhD (topic - engineering education) also in Manitoba.  Don was born and raised on a farm in southern Manitoba and is now living in Winnipeg.  Over his career Don has worked in the grain industry, ag chemical industry, sugar beet industry, at PAMI and consulting in the design and build of a flax straw processing plant.  Over the last 20 years Don has worked as a senior instructor in Biosystems Engineering teaching design courses, along with courses in precision agriculture and ag machinery.  Currently Don has finished his teaching career and is on leave until the end of year after which he is fully retired.

Don is just starting the position so is focused on learning the position responsibilities and preparing for the upcoming conference.   He welcomes you to contact him with any questions, comments, or ideas you have for the Society.
