It is our great pleasure to announce the next Young Energy Researchers Conference and Awards held on 4 March 2025 in Wels/Austria in the context of the World Sustainable Energy Days 2025 (WSED) – a leading annual conference on renewable energy and climate neutrality!

What is it all about?

Dedicated to the next generation of professionals and experts,two conference tracks present the work and achievements of young researchers in the fields of energy efficiency and biomass. The event offers the opportunity to interact with researchers and industry experts from all over the world and to build-up a peer network! At the World Sustainable Energy Days, more than 80 international speakers offer latest news on policies, markets, products, technologies, financing, business models, research and case studies. Gain hands-on experience through peer-to-peer exchange. A leading tradeshow on sustainable energy presents new products and real-life solutions. Meet the entire energy transition community and enjoy Austrian hospitality!

Call for papers – deadline: 10 October 2024

We invite young researchers (born after 1989) to submit contributions by 10 October 2024 using the online form. Submissions are welcome from all scientific fields. A high-level scientific committee selects papers for oral and poster presentation.

"Best Young Researcher" Awards

The best contributions are honoured with the "Best Young Biomass Researcher" and "Best Young Energy Efficiency Researcher" awards. The researchers receive 1,000 Euro each as prize money.

Don’t miss out! – conference costs covered!

The conference organiser, OÖ Energiesparverband, covers the costs of accommodation, meals, participation and local transport for up to 60 selected young researchers (travel costs need to be covered by the participants themselves).
